Clay & Ceramic Roof
Clay tiles are designed by baking clay. The thickness of the clay depends upon the amount of time and temperature at which it's heated up. Shades of clay tiles range between tones of white, yellow, orange and brown.
Probably the most popular clay color is Mediterranean style. Yet another substitute for these organic earth tones is usually to add enamels to the tile to make the hue of each roof tile is made. This process is known as “ceramic” and is made up of spraying the tile before the baking backing process.
High temperatures of the kiln permanently bond this color to the clay tile so it will not peel or fade. Consequently there's a wide selection of tile profiles, styles, finishes and colors readily available. Due to the fact clay tiles are produced from a natural earth derived material, they are environmentally friendly and easily recycled.
Clay tiles are resistant against strong winds and cannot be destroyed in a fire. Because of the way they protect the underlayment of your roof, while also developing an air pocket thereby helping to insulate and separate any unwanted cold or heat from being moved to your attic.
